Lake Oswego’s Goodwill sets the national bar for donations.

March 13th, 2009 by admin

When Goodwill Industries of Portland needs a donation, they look to Lake Oswego — where residents just keep giving and giving.

Goodwill fans everywhere should look to Lake Oswego, Oregon for inspiration. The “donation station” in L.O. collected 6.2 million pounds of goods last year, according to an article by Cliff Newell in the Portland Tribune. The amount made Lake Oswego the country’s top-donating city.

The numbers say L.O. residents give a great deal, but, apparently, they also give some good stuff. The location is known for being “especially good at giving high-class clothing.”

Thank you Lake Oswego for your donations! We probably have something of yours.

PGE expects Oregon to be ‘top market’ for plug-in vehicles

September 23rd, 2008 by admin

That’s what one PGE VP said in a story on PGE’s four new electric charging stations for plug-in vehicles, or “filling stations of the future,” in Oregon, according to Yuxing Zheng’s article in The Oregonian.

Some facts:

There are 3.3 million passenger cars in Oregon compared to about 270 all-electric passenger cars and 26,338 hybrid vehicles, according to The Oregonian.

One of the filling stations in Lake Oswego is expected to draw shoppers to L.O.’s downtown shopping district.
